This teak purse has been lovingly made by me, entirely by hand, as have all of the purses available for sale here. The yarn used for the outer layer of the purse is a standard DK (double-knitting) mercerised cotton. The DK weight means it is slightly thicker than the purses made from 4-ply yarn.
The crochet stitching is slightly different from the purses with beads. I crocheted the outer layer of the purse first, before sewing on the leaf motif. The leaf motif has been made using crochet thread. Then I sewed on a single lining of deep green-coloured cotton and affixed the magnetic clasps. Finally, the edges are sewn up. I aim for all stitching to be virtually invisible. This would make a great addition to any accessory or purse collection, or a wonderfully unique gift.
This purse takes approximately 13 hours to make.
