Prototype

Long stem silk roses have been in the back of my mind for quite some time as something I'd like to try and make. There are plenty of patterns for these available (free and paid) online and video tutorials too. Some are extremely labour intensive, some involve hot glue and polystyrene, some with leaves some without. I finally found a great and simple pattern & tutorial by Natty Pat Crochet available on YouTube and her website is www.nattypatcrochet.com

The above video is of a prototype I finished yesterday. I used my trusted favourite mercerised cotton in this beautiful shade of blue. Apparently blue roses do exist! My plan is to crochet them in silk, white with a touch of pink and in red. As much as I like this pattern I may still trawl through some other patterns/videos to see if any have a slightly different petal shape, at least for the outer petals.

What do you think? Do let me know what you do and don't like, any suggestions.

Final photo to end this week's post, honestly once I get started on these I just can't stop!

Thank you for your valuable time, please keep me in mind if you're ever looking to treat yourself or buying a gift for a loved one.

Lingling xx
